The CAP Prize is the international Prize for Contemporary African Photography awarded annually since 2012 to five photographers whose works were created on the African continent or which engage with the African diaspora. This outdoor exhibition is held at Stadthaus Olten from 18 – 27 August 2023. Visitors are invited to explore the five photographic series for free and by using smartify on their smartphones. The official opening takes place on 23 August 2023.

Every two years, the world of photography gathers in Olten and the finest photographers, visual storytellers, photo directors and enthusiasts get together. They come to celebrate their common love for photography and to educate and share their knowledge and passion with speech nights, numerous indoor and outdoor exhibitions, workshops, seminars, master classes and portfolio reviews by world-class photographers.

Meet the artist
Are you curious to learn more about the exhibited artworks than what meets the eye? Come and attend a CAP quickie, meet the artists via live stream, and satisfy your hunger for knowledge. Up to two exhibiting artists will introduce themselves and their work
via live stream. The audience is invited to converse with the artists directly.
