The CAP Prize is the international Prize for Contemporary African Photography awarded annually since 2012 to five photographers whose works were created on the African continent, or which engage with the African diaspora.

TALK TALK TALK is a series of presentations and discussions around photography in African contexts to network the different initiatives and photographers on the continent and beyond.

The following panel discussions are produced by the CAP Prize in collaboration with 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair London.

1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair returns to Somerset House for the 11th consecutive year. Taking place from 12 – 15 October 2023, the 2023 edition of 1-54 London will host over 60 international exhibitors, its most significant number to date.

Over the past decade, photography competitions appeared inflationary in the photography landscape. What are they, and what is their role for the actors in the photography scene? Join this conversation between international competition directors and hear about their experience working with this quickly evolving medium.


TTT gives African photography initiatives and photographers engaging with the continent the possibility to present themselves to an otherwise not accessible audience. The events aim to build a base for future collaboration between the various initiatives and individuals around African photography.
